DANIELLE BOCK

Director of Nutrition Services, Greeley-Evans School District #6

Bock leads one of Colorado's most innovative and equitable school meal programs. Under her leadership, District 6 became the only Colorado district to provide fully board-funded universal meals, serving more than 20,000 students daily—nearly 4 million meals each year. A champion for food equity, Bock has implemented more scratch cooking, farm-to-school initiatives, and food pantries across the district.

Her commitment to staff advocacy, sustainability, and inclusive leadership earned her recognition as the 2022 Southwest Regional Director of the Year by the School Nutrition Association and 2023 Woman of Distinction in Education by BizWest. A participant in the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health, Danielle believes that tasty, nutritious food is a basic human right—not a privilege.

Among her proudest moments are attendance at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health; and a feature on NBC’s Nightly News with Lester Holt.

NOMINATOR PRAISE

“Danielle Bock surpasses every criterion for the Silver Plate award. Her operational mastery, fiscal and HR innovation, community-driven programs, advocacy at the state and federal level, and dedication to ethical leadership make her an outstanding nominee. Her work has created lasting contributions to the foodservice industry and has established Greeley-Evens School District 6 as a national model in school nutrition.”
—  Sue Schnichels, National Account Executive, The JM Smucker Company

“Danielle’s mission for progressing school nutrition, health and wellness is evident in her own words—she says “yes” to almost all opportunities including panel presentations, speaking engagements, non-profit volunteer and chair positions. She believes strongly that the foodservice industry is filled with meaningful, important employment opportunities for so many, ranging from students to adults. She works hard to bring this culture to Greeley-Evans and spread the message as well.”
